His Excellency, Engr. Haruna Manu at the flag-off Ceremony of the Integrated Vaccination Campaign.

The Taraba State Government today (17th November 2021) officially flagged off the Integrated Vaccination Campaign.

The Flag-off ceremony which was held at Magami, Jalingo LGA got flagged off by His Excellency, the Deputy Governor, Engr. Haruna Manu who represented the Executive Governor, Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku.

Engr. Manu stated that the vaccination program is significant to the Ishaku’s administration because it is the first time that three vaccines (Yellow fever, Measles and Meningitis) will be given simultenously.

He said that although some of these diseases are still on the rise in the country, the Ishaku administration is working hard with all relevant stakeholders including traditional and religious leaders to educate their people about the critical role of vaccines in containing and eliminating disease spread.

“We will continue to rely on your valuable assistance and cooperation in ensuring that this programme does not only succeed but is also accepted by our people”.

 

“For the avoidance of doubt, let me reiterate that the vaccines are free and have been certified as safe and effective against the three diseases”.

He thanked the development partners which includes; UNICEF, WHO, CDC, AFENET and all relevant bodies for their tremendous help to the government, stressing that the contributions have played a significant role in the enormous progress recorded in the state in terms of enhanced health services.

Engr. Manu encouraged the people to get vaccinated against coronavirus and to follow the essential precautionary measures as he lauched the comprehensive immunization programme.
