The Taraba State Government has pledges support the successful and seamless operation of GASSOL Local Government area of the State.
Accordingly the State Government has awarded the contract for the construction of the 24 kilometer road from yerima village to the farm site in GASSOL town.
Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku who made the promise while on a tour of the company’s rice mill at the weekend, also said the State Government will provide all the needed security for the safety of both the personnel and properties of the company to enable it Carry out it’s operation seamlessly.
On the issue of absence of power supply, which was vital to smoth running of its rice mill, the Governor said he was going to lease with the Federal Ministry of power to discuss moralities of connecting the farm to the national grid.
As indication of his administration’s commitment to the success of the project, Ishaku disclosed that the road would be completed before 2023, just as ordered the deployment of security to the farm, to be completed by the Taraba Marshal, the State’s owned security outfit.
Earlier a representative of the company, Augustine Monday, while receiving the governor to the company premises, expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation they enjoy from the State Government, saying that the enabling atmosphere being created for them, the company will not relent on its efforts in rolling out the first bag of processed rice by next year.
GASSOL INTEGRATED FARMS is a large scale machanised agricultural entity, sitting on a 30’000 hectar farm land dedicated to rice production and processing.
Although, it has only cultivated 700 hectars as at the time of the Governor’s visit, Monday however disclosed that they will achieve 5000 before the end of the year, while plans were on ground to complete the entire farm land in the next few years.
