The Pamanga-Dakka road which was awarded last year July 2021 is scheduled to last for 18 months with 6 months already spent is set to be completed in the next 11 months.

This was disclosed by the Commisioner for Works, Hon. Hammanjulde Irimiya during an inspection visit to the site.

The Commisioner commended the contractors handling the project for the quality work being done on the site and said he is optimistic that the level at which the work is going will no doubt be ready for use before the stipulated 18 months time.

Honourable Irimiya stated that the Governor is committed in completing this road as it is dear to his heart and called on the contractors to keep to the terms of reference as he is also keeping to his own.

The Commissioner who thanked the Governor for awarding the road however urged the contractors to maintain the tempo at which the work is going in other to meet up with the time frame given.

The Project Manager GELD construction Ltd Mr. Evonovick Dusan disclosed that this is one of the best site he has worked on since his construction years.
He said the government of Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has made it a point of duty to release funds even before needs arises and that they are on course in making sure the project is completed at the agreed time and handed over for use.

He however disclosed that the only challenge encountered by his company are the rocky areas but they have been able to overcome it and are on speed lane in giving their best. He stated that the community has giving them every necessary cooperation and support and they are committed to deliver the best.

Responding to the changes of over 50 years back and today on the said road, the Ubandoma of Dakka said they can not expressed their gratitude enough on the construction of this road, disclosing that the road has been a nightmare for the people of Dakka for the past 50 years but today they are not only being remembered but also soon to be connected to the world of economy and assured the Governor of his name been written in gold by the people of Dakka.

While applauding the quality of work done on the road, Ubandoma thanked the Governor for awarding the road and for also making sure that the road is completed before the expiration of his tenure next year.

Some of the commuters and resident who spoke to press men expressed their profound joy over the construction of the road, saying they have been relieved of the long suffering of flying the road especially from Pamanga to Dakka.

They said that since the construction work began, they have experienced increase on sales value as well as maximising of time connection from one village to another with less stress.

The visit is the first official visit by the Commisioner for Works, Hon. Irimiya HammanJulde, the Overseeing Commisioner for Information and Reorientation, Hon. Alhassan Hassan, Permanent Secretary Works and Permanent Secretary Information.

The visit was to inspect as well as ascertain the level of work done on the site and to also make sure that what is expected of them by the Taraba State government is what is been done.
