On June 15th, Governor Kefas Agbu launched the distribution of 101.9 million Naira to 1078 beneficiaries, aiming to alleviate poverty among vulnerable individuals across the 16 local governments of Taraba State.

The governor officially commenced the distribution of livelihood grants under the Taraba State Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (TR-CARES) program, which specifically targets youth empowerment and poverty reduction.

Representing Governor Kefas, Deputy Governor Aminu A. Alkali handed out cheques to the beneficiaries during the ceremony. The event was attended by notable government officials, including the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Gebon Kataps Ngwii, the Head of Service, the Auditor General, Permanent Secretaries, and other high-ranking government functionaries.

The initiative aims to provide financial support and opportunities for vulnerable individuals, enabling them to improve their economic circumstances and reduce their dependence on external aid. By empowering these individuals, the government strives to enhance their quality of life and contribute to overall poverty reduction efforts in the state.

The distribution of funds signifies Governor Kefas’ commitment to uplifting the vulnerable segments of society and promoting inclusive economic growth. Through targeted programs like TR-CARES, the government aims to address the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals, fostering their socio-economic advancement and fostering a more equitable society.
