In a spirited inauguration, Amb. Joseph Joshua, the Honorable Commissioner of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, represented the Executive Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, extended a warm welcome to the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps members at the NYSC Camp in Taraba State.
Addressing the fresh graduates, Amb. Joshua acknowledged the presence of dignitaries including Chief Judge Justice Filibus Agya and expressed his welcome to the young participants arriving from various corners of the nation.
The Commissioner congratulated the new Corps members on completing their academic journeys and joining the National Youth Service Corps Scheme. He emphasized the Scheme’s role in promoting national unity, discipline, and economic development.
The state NYSC coordinator, Anthony M. Nzoka, urged the corps members to take advantage of the scheme’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to learn trades that will help them become employers of labour after their service.
He urged the participants to actively engage in the Orientation Course, highlighting its focus on equipping them for a year of service that aligns with the state’s commitment to youth development.
Amb. Joshua encouraged them to seize the opportunity to acquire skills and entrepreneurial know-how, enhancing their future prospects while commending their conduct and promising that security and welfare will remain a top priority.
