John Kizito Bonzena.The Taraba State Government delegation, led by the Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Kizito Bonzena, arrived in the country on September 17th, 2023, for a visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Director of the Department of Sub-Saharan Africa, Mr. Vaclav Prasil, welcomed the group alongside Mrs. Katrina Sternbergova from the same department. The delegation requested the support of the Czech Government in facilitating the ease of transactions by the Taraba State Government to secure mini and compact tractors to boost large-scale agriculture production in the state. They also had discussions with a team from the Czech Export Bank, led by the Director of the Trade Finance Department, Ing. Michal Neledy, and the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation, headed by Mr. Marek Doughy. Other issues discussed at the meeting included purchasing agro-processing equipment, attracting investors in solid minerals development, sustainable alternative energy, and balanced sustainable environmental development. The state delegation, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. John Kizito Bonzena, had earlier visited the Nigerian Embassy in the Czech Republic to announce their arrival and were received by the Nigerian Ambassador to the country, His Excellency Kevin Peter, and his deputy, Mrs. Blessing C. Ibe-Torti. Recall that on June 20, 2023, the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, signed a deal for the delivery of 750 new global multi-purpose mini tractors and 100 sets of Cabrio compact tractors, as well as related accessories, equipment, and spare parts, with the Czech company known as Knight A.S. – Barr.Zainab Usman Jalingo,Hon.
