The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Taraba State Chapter has held thanksgiving service of Nigeria at 63 with the theme “Faith, Freedom And The Future.
The Taraba State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas speaking at the occasion expressed his gratitude as the gathering Celebrate Nigeria’s 63 years.
He urged Nigerians to Reflect on the enduring faith that has sustain them through trials and triumphs of their history.
He urge Nigerians not to take their hard earn freedom for granted but to continually work hard to preserve and enhance it for future generations.
Earlier on, the State CAN Chairman Reverend Dr. Isaiah Jirapye Magaji stated that it is truly a wonderful day for the Independence of the country falling on a Sunday, the Lord’s day.
He charged everyone to pray for the Governor and his team, to succeed in all the projects he has planned for the state.
He further encouraged the Governor to be more proactive in tackling the security menace, dish out appointments of advisers and board members to deal with hunger and poverty in the state.
He added “as we pray for our Governor, state and the nation, let us talk less; resist idleness and work hard to become truly independent.
The Former Governor Jolly Nyame and several top government functionaries attended the service.
