In a significant development, His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, has announced the appointment of Mr. Paul Maigida Tino as the new Head of the State Civil Service. The appointment comes following a meticulous screening process conducted by a committee tasked with recommending a qualified candidate for the prestigious role.

Born on September 9th, 1966, in Sabongida Tukura, Kurmi Local Government Area of Taraba State, Mr. Tino brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his new position. His educational journey includes stints at various institutions, culminating in a Bachelor of Technology degree in Animal Science Fisheries and Range Management from the Federal University of Technology, Yola, in 1999.

Mr. Tino’s professional trajectory within the civil service is marked by a commitment to excellence and continuous learning. Starting as a Livestock Superintendent in the State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources in 1990, he steadily climbed the ranks, obtaining additional qualifications such as a Post-Graduate Diploma in Administration and a Master’s in Public Administration.

Throughout his career, Mr. Tino has demonstrated a passion for public service and a keen interest in disaster risk management. He has served in various capacities, including as Secretary of the Local Government Service Commission and Director of Planning Research and Statistics at the State Emergency Management Agency.

The appointment of Mr. Tino follows a rigorous selection process, with 15 out of 35 Permanent Secretaries presenting themselves for screening. Mr. Tino emerged as the top candidate, scoring the highest points and exemplifying merit and qualification for the role.

Expressing delight at the appointment, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yusuf Sanda, affirmed Mr. Tino’s suitability for the position, citing his extensive experience, commendable track record, and dedication to public service.

With Mr. Tino at the helm of the State Civil Service, Taraba State looks forward to continued progress and effective administration, guided by principles of meritocracy and excellence.
