The delegation was led by the state Commissioner for Works, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar.
A letter of condolence from the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri was also presented to Gov Ishaku at the ceremony by leader of the delegation.
Speaking during the visit, Alhaji Adamu described the death of Hajiya Aisha as the loss of an icon.
He said Taraba had lost an icon, a mother in a million, one who was very kind and generous and prayed God to give Governor Ishaku and the entire people of Taraba State the fortitude to bear the loss.
In his reaction, Governor Ishaku thanked his Adamawa State counterpart, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, for the visit of the delegation and promised that he would work with him to promote and nurture the healthy relationship that currently exists between the two states.
He described Jumai Alhassan as a wonderful woman. “She was an honest person. If she said she was supporting you, she will do so wholeheartedly”, Ishaku said.
He said after the election in 2019, Senator Aisha came and told him that she was ready to work with him in the interest of the people of Taraba State and that she remained committed to that promise until her death.
Governor of Taraba State, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has received with deep shock news of the death of Senator Aisha Jumai Alhassan, a former governorship candidate in the state and frontline member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Governor Ishaku described Hajiya Jumai as a woman of great courage and that her death is for him, a personal loss.
He said he and the late Senator Jumai Alhassan had enjoyed a robust political relationship and had kept in touch even while both of them contested for the same seat of Governor of Taraba State from different political platforms in 2015 and 2019.
He described the Senator as an asset and that her death has robbed Taraba State and Nigeria of the benefits of her wealth of experience in politics.
He said that as minister of Women Affairs Senator Aisha contributed immensely towards social and political emancipation of women and that her death has left a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.
He urged her family to take solace in the fact that Senator Aisha Alhassan lived a life of service to humanity.
He prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest.

Taraba Government Reacts On the Motion Moved By Sen. Bwacha On The Arrest and Detention of Some Youth from Takum
The Taraba state government has reacted on the motion that was moved by the Senate deputy minority leader, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha on the arrest and detention of some youth in Takum by the police in Jalingo.
This was contained in a Press Conference address by the Commissioner for Information, Barr. Danjuma Adamu on Thursday 6th May, 2021.
Details of the Press Conference is given below;
“The attention of the Taraba State Government has been drawn to a publication on the social media signed by one Disebe S. Bala Donga, SA New Media to Senator Emmanuel Bwacha linking the Taraba State Governor, His Excellency, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku to the arrest and detention of some youth from Takum Local Government Area by the Police in Taraba State.”
“The purported writer claimed that the youth “were mischievously lured by His Excellency, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku to Jalingo” before they were whisked away by the police for an illegal detention for a bailable offence.”
“Sadly, this statement was also corroborated by Senator Emmanuel Bwacha when he moved a motion in the senate against the arrest and detention of 14 youth, where he said the youth attacked a person who is the ‘’younger brother’’ of the Governor of the state. This is wicked and a deliberate attempt by senator Bwacha to drag the Governor into an issue he knows nothing about.”
“Clearly, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha is defending the arrest of the ‘’Bwacha Brought Ups’’. No wonder, he is trying to defend the indefensible as the law is already taking its course.”
“In view of this falsehood, the Taraba State Government is compelled to react and clarify the issue.”
“The Governor has always been a promoter of the principles of separation of powers and cannot do anything to interfere in the duties of the police or the judicial arm of government.”
“It will therefore be preposterous for the Governor to descend so low to meddle and influence the action of the police.”
“The police are trained to detect and fight crime and criminality as this is their constitutional responsibility, which is exactly what they have done in this case.”
“If the sponsors of the youth, particularly Senator Emmanuel Bwacha has anything against the action of the police for the arrest and detention of the 14 youths, he should go to the court to seek redress.”
“It is wrong for Senator Emmanuel Bwacha or group to link the Governor to the arrest and detention of the youth simply because someone or some people are trying to seek cheap publicity.”
“The Governor stands to gain nothing from the arrest and detention of the youth and the Taraba State wants to advise those trying to drag the Governor into the issue to look elsewhere.”
“Governor Darius Ishaku’s concern at all time is the promotion of security, legality, peace and progress of Taraba State. This has been his focus since he assumed power in May 2015 and he will continue to do so, by the grace of God.”
“Thank you and God bless.”
