The Taraba State Government has constituted a 13-member Main Organizing Committee and a Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the forthcoming Taraba State Investment Summit, a flagship initiative designed to attract strategic investments, promote economic opportunities, and accelerate sustainable development across the state.
Approved by Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas, the summit will serve as a premier platform for engaging domestic and international investors while showcasing Taraba State's competitive advantages across agriculture, mining, energy, tourism, manufacturing, and other high-growth sectors.
The Main Organizing Committee will be chaired by Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, with Mrs. Jackline Yawa serving as Vice Chairman. Working alongside APCO as the lead consultants, the committee will coordinate engagement with the European Union, international investors, development partners, and the diplomatic community to ensure the success of the summit.
Other members of the committee include Senator Haruna Manu, Dr. Unuoha Nnaji, Chief Chris Okoye, Prince Tita Ngalam, and other distinguished professionals, with Dr. Joel Ebute serving as Secretary and Barr. Nierus Johnson as Assistant Secretary.
To complement these efforts, Governor Kefas also approved the inauguration of a Local Organizing Committee, chaired by Hon. Jethro Zikengyu Yakubu, to oversee logistics, stakeholder coordination, and operational planning for the event. The committee comprises commissioners, senior government officials, and professionals from key sectors to ensure seamless execution of the summit.
Both committees were officially inaugurated on 11 April 2025 at the Executive Council Chamber, T.Y. Danjuma House, Jalingo, marking the commencement of preparations for one of the state's most significant investment promotion events.
The Taraba State Investment Summit is expected to strengthen partnerships with global investors, development institutions, and the private sector while highlighting the state's abundant natural resources, improving investor confidence, and presenting bankable opportunities for long-term investment.
The initiative reflects Governor Agbu Kefas' commitment to positioning Taraba State as a preferred investment destination through strategic reforms, international partnerships, and policies that foster sustainable economic growth, job creation, and inclusive prosperity.
