Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has been honoured with a distinguished service award by ECWA TV. This took place during the weekend at the ECWA headquarters Jos Plateau state where he and his counterpart, Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Simon Bako Lalong and other notable sons and daughters were recognized.

The Governor was represented by his personal aide Hon. Musa Mamman.

While speaking, the governor appreciated the ECWA family for finding him worthy among millions to be honored.

“It is indeed an honor to be recognized by God Almighty for doing His will”.

Governor Ishaku, however, pleaded with them for more prayers for God’s will to continue prevailing over that of men, because without prayers, nothing can be made possible and the peace which everyone so much cherishes would be far fetched.

The President of ECWA speaking at the occasion said the governor has not only been so supportive towards the work of God, but has also stood for his people regardless of the threats, intimidation and danger to his life.

He said Governor Ishaku has chosen the right path in standing firm, denying himself all the benefit he would have personally enjoyed if he were to compromise his stand in defense of the good people of Taraba.

The President said His Excellency, Arch. Darius Ishaku, is a good shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep and not a hireling who throws away his sheep when he sees the wolf coming because they are not his.

He described Governor Ishaku as a “Great Lion” who fears not and quoted the great general Napoleon who said, “I am never afraid of Lions that are led by a sheep, but I am afraid of sheep that are led by a Lion.”

He urged the Governor to keep leading his people because God Almighty is with him and prayed that God would bless him real good.
