Rescue Watch: November 2016 Report for Ussa

Activity Observation Remark
Visits to government Facilities as follows:

Government Day Secondary School Rufu

 

The team observed the following:

  • Facilities/structures in the school were seriously dilapidated.
  • A block of classroom had one side fallen.
  • The School had no science Laboratory, except for the effort of Chidinma Uzoagu a Corps Member who converted a classroom in the Junior section equipped and furnished same as laboratory.

 

Ministry of education note.
  The Principal requested for a borehole to serve the laboratory and the school. Ministry of Water Resources to note.
Visit to Maternity Clinic
  • The team observed that the clinic had no water supply.
  • Inadequate drugs in the clinic.
  • Lack of generating set and fence.

Visit to Village head of Lumbu The Village Head and His team expressed their in-quantifiable joy and requested the team to convey their gratitude to His Excellency. 

They promised to safeguard all government facilities in their domain.

The traditional leaders made the following observations:

  • The need to construct the road from Rufu-lumbu-Kpakya which internationally bordered Cameroon.

  Construction of a Maternity Clinic at Lumbu-Iya Ussa. CTC to note.
  Need for repairs and revitalization of borehole, water tank at the MCH.

They showed appreciation and gratitude for a new borehole dug by His Excellency in the ward.

  An elderly man who sustained fracture as a result of an accident was given a token of N20,000 to treat himself, he appreciated His excellency for the gesture.
