DAN ABU NOT GIWA’s REPLACEMENT
Some comments I have read recently concerning Mr Bala Dan Abu, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Taraba State on Media and Publicity are a gross misconception of the nature of his appointment. It is not true that Mr Abu has been appointed as replacement for Sylvanus Giwa who died recently.
Mr Abu was appointed senior special assistant, media and publicity in September last year. He functioned in that position from Abuja briefly before he was moved to Jalingo where he enjoyed an excellent working relationship with Giwa until he died recently. The occasion recently arose for Mr Abu to sign a press release on behalf of the government and he did using his official designation which was hitherto unknown to most people.
To say Mr. Abu has been appointed as replacement for Giwa and then accuse His Excellency, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of giving the job to a non-indigene of the state is a product of misinformation. Mr Abu’s appointment is not new and the terms have not changed even after the death of Giwa.
