Press Statement – Governor Ishaku Sues for Peace in Gassol LGA

Taraba State Governor, His Excellency Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has sued for peace among residents of Kwararafa village, in Gassol Local Government Area of the state, following an outbreak of crisis among the residents during the weekend.

Gov. Ishaku is unhappy with frequent resort to violence by people who have lived together for decades as good neighbours and noted that this is never the right solution for disagreements among people and communities.

He said whatever the issues that may be involved and whatever the depth of the feelings and sentiments that those issues generate, dialogue remains the best approach for achieving peaceful resolution.

He is unhappy and deeply concerned about the turn of events in Kwararafa and has directed security agencies to intervene to restore peace quickly.

The Governor advised residents of Kwararafa village to cooperate with security agencies deployed to the area to facilitate the quick return of nomalcy to the village.
