Gov. Ishaku Swears In New Acting Chief Judge

Taraba State Governor, His Excellency, Arc. Dickson Darius Ishaku has sworn in as the Acting Chief Judge, Honourable Justice Joel Filibus Agya at the Exco Hall of the Taraba State Government House, Jalingo.

The Governor called on the newly sworn-in Acting Chief Judge to use his position in ensuring that there is speedy dispensation of Justice in the State.

The ceremony had the presence of the Deputy Governor, the Speaker of the House of Assembly , High Court Judges, Lawyers, friends and well wishers who came from far and near to felicitate with the Acting Chief Judge.

The Executive Governor of Taraba state, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has approved the appointment of Mal. Salisu Umar Sani as the New Care Taker Chairman (CTC) of Ardo-Kola Local Government Council.

This was contianed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Hon. Anthony A. Jellason dated 21/02/2023.

It states that Mal. Salisu Umar Sani who was the former Vice Chairman of Ardo-Kola Local Government Council is to replace Alh. Ismaila Zakari.

It also states that the handing and taking over should be done immediately.

PRESS RELEASE: Gov. Ishaku to Launch and Flag Off Inter-State Tax Stickers/Single Haulage Fee

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku will on Thursday, 9/2/2023 officially launch and flag off the single Inter – State Road Tax Stickers and single haulage fee in Jalingo.

This was contained in a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Iliya Bekyu Akweh.

It states that the ceremony will hold at the Gym hall of the Jolly Nyame Stadium at 10:00 o’clock in the morning.

According the press release, the initiative is aimed at checking multiple taxation and illegal fee being charged along the Nation’s highways with a view to boosting the state internally generated revenue.

Top government officials, captains of industries, members of the organized private sector and the public are invited to attend the event.

The Executive Chairman of Taraba State Internal Revenue Service, Dr. Siman Ambita’a is expected to be the chief host at the occasion.

Marraraba-Baissa-Abong Road: Gov. Ishaku Reiterates Administration’s Resolve To Complete Project

Taraba State Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has reiterated his administration’s resolve to complete the Marraraba-Baissa-Abong road before the end of the tenure of his administration.

Governor Ishaku was speaking yesterday in Jalingo when some critical stakeholders from Kurmi LGA led by the Affah Tigun, Ibrahim Ishaya Etsu paid him a thank you visit for the appointment of the Permanent Secretary, Press Affairs to the Executive Governor, Prince Iliya Bekyu Akweh and the Provost College of Education Zing, Professor Ejika Sambo.

Ishaku assured that he has initiated a better method of funding the execution of the project which according to him is too dear to his heart.

The Governor was optimistic that with the new way of funding, the project would be completed according to specification .

He also emphasized that the completion of the project was basically an appreciation to the people of the area for massively voting for him in 2015 and 2019.

The Governor pointed out that besides his administration’s commitment towards fixing of road in line with his electioneering campaign promises, the road has huge economic values which when completed would help to open up the entire local government area.

He however advised the people especially traditional rulers to take the security of the area with all seriousness by monitoring and reporting the influx of criminal elements to constituted authorities for necessary action.

He appealed to the people of the area to give maximum support to the deputy governor, Engineer Haruna Manu during the forthcoming elections for a better representation at the red chamber of the National Assembly.

Earlier, the Affah Tigun Ibrahim Ishaya Etsu told the Governor that their visit was to thank him for the recent appointments of the two sons of the area into the positions of Permanent Secretary and Provost in his government emphasizing that the people of Kurmi will not forget him in a hurry for the attention he has been giving to them since he assumed duties as the governor in the state in 2015.

Also in a brief remarks, Justice Emmanuel Audu Dodo said the people of Kurmi local government would remain grateful to the Governor for his magnanimity and sustained love for the area.

The Deputy Governor Engineer Haruna Manu, Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning Solomon Elisha, Chairman Kurmi local government Joseph John Danladi Amamzalla, Justices Silas Haruna and Emmanuel Garba, former speaker of the state House of Assembly Simon Dogari , Chairman Governing Council of the State Polytechnic Lydia Ambituni, Special Advisers, Permanent Secretaries among others witnessed the ceremony.

“No Human Blood Worth Shedding For Power” – Gov. Ishaku

The Executive Governor of Taraba state, His Excellency Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku FNIA, MNITP

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has again called on religious leaders, caregivers and parents to warn their children and wards against making themselves available as thugs in the hands of overzealous politicians.

The Governor who gave the warning on Tuesday in the state, added that “no human blood is worth shedding for the purpose of acquiring political power.”

He called on politicians, especially those seeking elective positions in the forthcoming general elections, to play the game according to the laid down rules and said his administration would collaborate with the security operatives to track down any person or group who would want to soil the present peace in the state.

He advised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to make the forthcoming election credible and transparent.

Governor Ishaku expressed belief that the dream of electing credible leaders is achievable and urged eligible voters who are yet to collect their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, to do so.

He also called on religious leaders to take their time to pray for a hitch-free general poll in the state and the country at large.
