Mijinyawa’s Re-Designation in Line With Standard Practice – Haruna Manu

Mijinyawa’s Re-Designation in Line With Standard Practice – Haruna Manu

Taraba State Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu has dissociated himself from a misleading story by The Nation newspaper and other online media regarding the Governor’s former Chief Press Secretary, Hassan Mijinyawa and the office he hitherto held until the recent development.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the Deputy Governor, Muslim Usman Ruwa.

The Deputy Governor reiterated in clear terms as earlier stated by the Governor’s media aide,  Bala Dan Abu that the action was strictly an administrative affair in line with rules and procedures of the civil service. It was not connected in any way to the events at a recent wedding fatiha of Mijinyawa’s daughter as insinuated by the said reports. The erroneous news reports attempted to tarnish the image of the Deputy Governor and cause disaffection.

The fact remains that as at time of arrival of the Deputy Governor to the wedding, the Honorable Minister of Power,  Engr Sale Mamman was already on his way to the venue also, and upon his arrival, they were together throughout the wedding fatiha, exchanged pleasantries and engaged in hearty conversation with the Minister until the close of the occasion. The Deputy Governor therefore did not leave in annoyance because the programme began behind schedule as falsely reported.

The Deputy Governor thus directs attention to the Press Statement by the Governor’s Media Aide which clarified Mijinyawa’s relief as CPS and corresponding appointment as Senior Special Assistant.

The statement described the action as a correction of what ought to have obtained. Re-designating him from one office to another was thus an administrative action taken on the prerogative of the Governor in line with standard practice and therefore carries no personal undertone whatsoever.

While cautioning reporters from hurriedly publishing stories that lack credibility, the Deputy Governor wishes the former CPS well in his new assignment and further assures the public of his commitment to relate with people and do his duties as Deputy Governor devoid of sentiments.
