Barr. Mrs. Anna Darius Ishaku, Rt. Hon. Speaker, Dr. Joseph A. Kunini at the two-day symposium/workshop held at Taraba Motel, Jalingo.
Wife of Taraba Governor, Barr. Mrs. Anna Darius Ishaku has said every human being has a positive role to play on the issue of all forms of abuse on women and children in the state, she stressed the need for all stakeholders, parent and governments to support the fight against gender based violence to make the society healthy.
The Governor’s wife stated this in her remark at the conclusion of a two-day symposium/workshop themed “Tackling the Pandemic of Violence and the Attendant Consequences; Get involved” at Taraba motel, Jalingo.
Anna Ishaku explained that the workshop has provided a platform for participants to make positive contributions on how best all forms of violence can be addressed head on.
On his part, Speaker Taraba State House Assembly, Joseph Albasu Kunini commended the organization of the workshop and looking at the level of violence against women and children in the society, he urged for more collaborative effort to curb the menace.
Joseph Albasu Kunini reiterated the readiness of State House of Assembly to support legislation in instituting stiffer punishments for offenders in the state.
The workshop was attended by security agencies, non-governmental organizations and various ministries in the state.

The wife of the Executive Governor of Taraba state, Anna Darius Ishaku has just flagged off a family planning awareness creation and service provision in Bali and Gassol local government areas.
Represented by her Special Adviser on Administration Nungrimam Dashe, Anna Darius performed the exercise in Garin Makeri also Known as Darius Village.
The Governor’s wife explained that the awareness is aimed at enlightening women and their husbands on the importance of child spacing.
She lamented that she was touched by the ugly incident of child trafficking act carried in the areas where about seventy two children were intercepted and are now at state government’s custody.
She told parents to take good care of their children and never to give them out to somebody who may come in the name of help to secure their future.
The Regional Behavioral Change Communication and Marketing Officer, Marie Stopes, Ibrahim Yusuf said the organization is bent on providing services on reproductive Health and Child Spacing to family across the globe.
Also commenting, Executive Secretary Primary Health Care Development Agency, Aminu Hassan Jauro Represented by Director, Community Health Service, Chindo Usman Zakari said the program is organised to create awareness to mothers on child spacing for a healthy family.
Earlier, the Kaigama Kam Maigandi Manu Kaigama Appreciated the Governor’s wife, Marie Stopes and Primary Health Care Development Agency for reaching his subjects with family planning awareness and pledged maximum support to ensure success of the event.
The awareness campaign was organised by Marie Stopes, Primary Health Care Development Agency in collaboration with Hope Afresh Foundation, Taraba.

With institutions of learning affected by the coronavirus all over the world, the wife of Taraba State Governor Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku has sponsored the design of an e-learning portal to keep the door of learning open in the state.
The governor’s wife gave the website to the commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education Hon. Johannes Jigen as her contribution to education in response to Covid-19 and said they should ensure they sustain the project.
According to her, the website is rich with education contents, a robust interface for interaction with students, feedback on questions by students etc.
Learners can access the website through e-learning.linkedvoices.com.ng using android phone, laptop and desktop computer.
The occasion was witnessed by commissioners and stakeholders in the education sector.

Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Yutaka Kikuta and Hope Afresh Foundation today signed a grand contract of $197, 736 for the establishment of a facility for the processing of Sesame seeds in Taraba State.
Hope Afresh Foundation is an initiative of Barr Anna Ishaku, wife of the Governor of Taraba State, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku which has done a lot in empowering women and youths.
Sesame production is one of the crops whose growth is being promoted by the Ishaku administration.
The fund is being provided by the Japanese government under that country’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects.
The Sesame processing project is an initiative of the Hope Afresh Foundation and will be executed in collaboration with Toyota Tsusho Corporation.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Barr. Anna Ishaku thanked the government of Japan for the good gesture and assured that the facility will greatly boost sesame seed production in Taraba State.
The wife of the governor also spoke about the numerous achievements of the Foundation which includes the discovery of Ndola, a community of
people who live on the mountains in Taraba State which was inaccessible to modern civilisation.
She said following the discovery, the community has now been provided with modern amenities including a police station and health facilities by the Taraba State government.
Gov. Ishaku who also witnessed the event joined his wife in thanking the Japanese government for the support to the Foundation and by extension, Taraba State government.
Earlier, Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Yutaka Kikuta assured Taraba State’s first couple of the resolve of his country to support projects that can help in the empowerment of the people.
The event took place at the Japanese embassy in Abuja.

Wife of the Taraba State Governor, Barr. Mrs. Anna Darius Ishaku appreciated her development partners for partnering with her foundation over the years. She explained that the support she received from them spurred her to accomplish her visíon of touching lives.
Barr. Anna Ishaku stated this yesterday at the end of year party for women groups in the state capital at the Presidential Lodge.
She also lauded the resilience of her staff of the Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba comprising of Hope Health Centre, Skills Acquisition Centre Mayo Dassa and Information Communication Technology (I.C.T) unit for their sacrifices.
In their separate good-will messages, representatives of wives of legislators, President of NCWS, Fidelity Bank Jalingo, wives of caretaker committee chairmen of local government areas among others, commended the Governor’s wife for the great impact in the lives of women and youths in the State and also appreciate her for empowering women and IDPs to be self-reliant.
Similarly, representatives of the various women groups described the Governor’s wife as a mother that put smiles on the lives of Taraba women. There was also an Award of Excellence bestowed on the Governor’s wife by the Titure women group of Jalingo and food items were donated by fidelity bank.
