Muslim, Christian Representatives Meet Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku
Taraba state Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku has advised religious leaders in the state to continue to preach the gospel of peace. Darius Ishaku stated this in his office during a meeting with the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the Muslim Council.
The Governor said the state had suffered a lot in the past hence the need for Tarabans to give peace a chance. He said “no religion encourages killing one another”, warning that government would not condone such acts.
He urged the two faiths to ensure that they preach the right doctrines as enshrined in the Holy Books. The Governor assured that his doors were open to the two faiths for constructive criticism that would move the state forward.
In their remarks, spokesmen of the two religions Magaji Jirape and Inuwa Jauro Mafindi thanked the Governor for the invitation and promised to give him the needed support.
