Apart from transforming the state’s own television station, (TTV) from analog to digital, Gov. Ishaku has again achieved another very important feet by emerging as one of the best government websites in Nigeria, which was vetted by technical experts at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).

The just concluded programme was attended by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan Habu. The experts have been critically analysing the websites of the 36 states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for some years now and it is worthy to note that the analysis of the 4th edition for the 36 states websites in the country is out and Taraba state government’s website  (www.tarabastate.gov.ng) was among the best.

The results of this same analysis for the 36 states for previous editions (1st – 3rd editions) ranked Taraba state at 20th in year 2012, 28th in year 2013 and 27th in year 2014 respectively.

The government website serves as the only Nationally recognized and approved medium of interraction between Taraba state, Federal MDAs, and the Globe and it encapsulates everything the world needs to know about Taraba as a state including the operations/achievements of the present government.

There are many ways of transmitting information using ICT platforms such as the social media but the seriousness of any government that really needs to be recognized and taking very seriously, lies on the ability of such government (be it state or federal) to own a website and Taraba state have a DISTINCTION on this important ICT requirement. It may not be surprising that many people in Taraba state don’t know of the existence of our state-owned website (www.tarabastate.gov.ng) but it still didn’t stop the fact that the website is not just a website but one that met international criteria and specifications on how government websites should be built and managed. All thanks to Gov. Ishaku again for empowering his ICT team for building and managing the state’s owned website according to international specifications and requirements.
