Governor Ishaku Flags Off the Construction of Pantisawa Road.
Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku today flagged off the construction Mararraba Pantisawa road from Lacheke village to Pantisawa the headquarters of Yorro Local Government Area.
Gov. Ishaku who was visibly happy with the flagging off of the road construction said it is in fulfillment of the campaign promise he made to the people of Yorro Local Government Area in the palace of the Chief of Mumuye, Ado Adamu Mazang during his electioneering campaign.
He stated that the construction of the road will open up Pantisawa the headquarters of Yorro Local Government to various socio-economic activities, particularly, agricultural activities which are the hallmark of the Local Government Area.
The Governor called on the people of the area to accord the company the desired support, particularly, in ensuring that they are safe at all times, so that they will do their best and added that, the road construction will also boost economic activities and as well create job opportunities for the teeming youths of the council area.
Governor Darius Ishaku informed the gathering that he met WESANY International Concepta in Germany during one of his trips and with the help of a Nigerian partner today WESANY International is in Taraba and pointed out that apart from the construction of Yorro road, the company will also construct 5000 housing units which will be completely funded by them and be sold to civil servants in the state and other interested indigenes at an affordable cost.
Accordingly, Governor Ishaku said his administration will continue to woo investors vigorously into the state and will strive to create an enabling environment for them to function effectively, so that they will contribute in opening up the state by creating jobs opportunities for the citizens of the state and equally enhance socio economic activities that are geared towards repositioning the state to compete favourably with other states in the country.
Earlier in his speech, the Commissioner of works and transport, Dr. Tafarki Agbaru Enemies said the flagging off of the construction of road from Lacheke village in Mararraban Pantisawa is in fulfilment of the campaign promise made to Yorro people during electioneering campaign by Governor Darius Ishaku, saying that, “promised made and promised kept”.
Dr. Tafarki Agbaru maintained that the WESANY International Concepta is a trusted company that will deliver on its mandate and encouraged the people of the area to support the company so that they will reap the benefit of the company’s existence in their domain.
He remarked that the construction of the road is a sign that dividends of democracy will continue to pour into the area, bringing an end to the stagnation that the headquarters of the local government council has suffered in the past and added that the master key that will unlock agricultural potentials of the area has been flagged off and encouraged the people to take advantage and be partners in progress with the construction company.
The works Commissioner told the gathering that, since the inception of the present administration, it has constructed roads and equally completed the ones started by his predecessor, which included Kona road, Magami road, roundabout through post office road, Federal Medical center through Dorowa and linking Deeper life Church road and Takum township roads.
Others included the Chanchanji to Takum road which the construction firm has started mobilising to site as well as the Wukari Tsukondi road, while the dualised Palace Way and the Jolly Nyame way which was started by the previous administration have been completed and added that the Bali, Gashaka to Gembu road’ which was started by previous administration is consistently being funded by the present administration and the work has reached appreciable level of completion.
In his assurance speech, the representative of WESANY International Concepta, Engr. Peter Petro said they are in Taraba state courtesy of the Governor’s visit to Germany and asserted that the best of German technology would be used to deliver a qualitative job.
Peter Petro stressed that they will do their best to project the image of their country in order to establish a robust working relationship with Taraba state Government.
He called on the host community to assist and support them particularly in the area of security and pointed out that with the cooperation of the natives he is sure that they will be safe and further said apart from the expatriates that the company will bring, they will also need the services of the locals for the overall success of the project throughout the period it will last.
The Mararraba Lacheke to Pantisawa road which is about 20 kilometers is expected to cost the state Government about six point three billion Naira (N6.3b), and the payment would be made in faces and the first payment would be made when the project work has reached 30% level of competition.
