


Gov. Fayose Solicits Support from Taraba Delegates.
Ekiti state Governor, Ayodele Fayose said the citizens of Nigeria must make a positive decision in 2019 election to save the country from total collapse as a result of misrule of the All Progressive Congress APC.
Governor Fayose stated this on Saturday at the TY Danjuma Governor’s lodge Asokoro in Abuja when he came to appreciate Taraba delegates for coming out in their numbers to be part of the epoch event, the non elective convention of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
He maintained that taking a critical decision by the electorates in 2019 is the only way Nigeria would be restored to the part of glory, urging them to go and sensitise their people on the need to vote out the APC from power having faild to live up to the promises the made in 2015.
The Ekiti state Governor remarked that the only party that understands the complexity of Nigeria is the PDP, stressing that, Nigerians are seriously suffering because the ruling APC lacks the requisite capabilities to turn around the fortunes of the country in all ramifications.
Ayo Fayose used the opportunity to solicit for support from Taraba delegates as he expressed his intention to contest for nomination as a presidential candidate under the platform of the PDP for the 2019 presidential election.
The Governor noted with dismay the endless hardship the people of the country are faced with at the moment saying that he has come to declare his intention and solicit for support so that during the next National Convention of the Party that will produce flagbearer of the party as a presidential candidate,Taraba delegates should accord him the desired support that will make him emerge as the Presidential candidate of the PDP.

It will be recalled that during the non elective convention of the PDP, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido openly declared their intentions to contest for the most exalted seat in the nation’s polity and during the event the two intending contestants went round the 36 states pavilions including that of the FCT Abuja.

PDP BoT Chairman Condoles Suntai’s Family.
The National Office of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, has condoled with the family of former Governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Danfulani Suntai who passed on recently.
The PDP Board Of Trustees Chairman, Senator Walid Jibrin while commiserating with the family of the deceased at their house at GRA Jalingo, said God deemed it fit to take away the former Governor when he is most needed in the State, and called on his family, the Government and the people of the State to accept Suntai’s death in good faith and to see it as an act of God.
He added that the Former Governor who died recently was a good man who lived an examplary life and stated that his character is worthy of emulation.
Also speaking, the State Chairman of the PDP Victor Kona also said that the Late former Governor was a firm and honest politician who will be greatly missed by the people of the State and beyond.
Victor Kona said his contribution to the development of the present Taraba cannot be quantified and encouraged the family to be strong and move on and prayed for the repose of his soul.
Responding on behalf of the family, Danladi Suntai appreciated the delegation for commiserating with the family stating that a vacuum has been created which will be difficult to fill.
Danladi Suntai appreciated the delegation for identifying with the Suntai’s family during it’s trying moment and prayed for God to grant them journey mercies.
The delegation of the party was led by the Board Of Trustees Chairman, Senator Jibrin Walid, accompanied by the North/East Zonal Chairman of the party, Amb. Emmanuel Njiwah, and the Chairman of the PDP in Taraba State, Victor Kona and some State PDP Officials.
Former Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai died in Orlando Florida, USA where he was receiving medical treatment.
The New State PDP Chairman, Elder Nuhu Abe taking his Oath of Office.
Elder Nuhu Abe is replacing the vacuum created by the resignation of the former PDP Chairman now the State Governor, His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas while Hon. Simon Bala will replaced the vacuum created by the subsequent resignation of former State Organizing Secretary of the party, Hon. Saviour Noku who was recently appointment Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties and Social Service.
Both nominees were unanimously endorsed by the State Executive Committee of the party to complete the tenure of their predecessors.

He pledged to enthrone a regime of justice, equity and internal democracy in the party and to also eschew politics of bitterness within party structures.
He further appreciated His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, Governor of Taraba State for interpreting and gradually bringing to reality the party’s manifesto and campaign promises.
Leader of representatives of the party at the National Zonal level on his part the Zonal Secretary of PDP North-East, Kabir J. Bappa described Taraba as the bedrock of PDP in Northern Nigeria.
According to him, in all the 19 Nineteen Northern states, PDP has lost out in one way or the other except in Taraba.
He further noted that the North-East Zonal Headquarter of the party received a letter from the Taraba State Executive Committee of the party who are the main organ of the party saddled with the power to elect and replaced any vacant position within the party.
In the letter the State Executive Committee requested that Hon. Nuhu Abe and Hon. Simon Bala should be appointed as State Chairman and State Organizing Secretary of the party respectively to fill in the existing vacuum.
In obedient to section 47(6) of the PDP Constitution 2017 as amended which state clearly that “Where a vacancy occurs in any of the offices of the Party, the Executive Committee at the appropriate level shall appoint another person from the area or zone where the officer originated from, pending the conduct of election to fill the vacancy.”
In view of the above the leadership of the party at the North-East Zonal level was left with no any option than performing her duty by confirming the nomination of the duo and subsequent proper swearing-in in line with provisions of the Party’s constitution which is taking place today.
He concluded by officially presenting both Hon. Nuhu Abe and Hon. Simon Bala as the substantive State Chairman and State Organizing Secretary of the PDP in Taraba state to complete the tenure of the resigned officers thus starting from 2023 to 2024.
The ceremony ended with administering the oath of office and oath of allegiance to both Hon. Nuhu Abe, PDP Chairman Taraba State and Hon. Simon Bala, State Organizing Secretary, Presentation of Certificates of Returned and proper handing and taking over.
Among dignitaries present was the State Governor of Taraba State Dr. Agbu Kefas represented by his Deputy His Excellency Alhaji Aminu Alkali, SGS Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, S. A. Political Affairs to the Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa.
Others were State House of Assembly members, Members of the State Executive Council, State Working Committee Members of the party, Party Executives, Stakeholders, Party faithfuls across the state e.t.c.
