Gov. Suntai Was Exceptionally Humble, Immortalize Him -Kwankwaso

The immediate past Governor of Kano state, and present Senator representing Kano Central, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankoso has condoled with the Government and people of the state on the death of the immediate past Governor of the state, Danbaba Danfulani Suntai.

Senator Musa Kwankoso who was in Government House Jalingo this afternoon to Commiserate with Governor Darius Ishaku described late Danbaba Suntai as a gentle man that was imbedded with rear gift of humility and respectfulness and above all a good and honest man.

The Senator maintained that as a mark of respect and honour to the fallen hero who contributed immeasurably to the growth and development of the state, the state Government should imortalise him by dedicating a particular monument that would serve as a reference point in the history of the state.

He further commiserated with the Government and people of the state on the recent crisis in Mambila Plateau and other crises that occurred in some parts of the state and prayed for the souls of those that were lost during the crises.

The immediate past Governor of Kano state decried the high level of crises in the country and stated that efforts should be made at all levels to discourage restiveness in whatever capacity in the country.

The Senator advised the state Government to be apt to its responsibility and be concious at every point in time and stressed that, effort should be intensified by the Governor and his team to avert future occurrence.

Responding, Taraba state Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku thanked Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankoso for commiserating with the people of the state, particularly, on the passing on of the former Governor of the state, Danbaba Danfulani Suntai and mentioned that Danbaba Suntai was a unique personality that was wrapped with humility and stressed that the people of the state will really miss him.

Governor Darius Ishaku remarked that his administration will continue from where he stopped, but however said, he was a perfect and honest politician that will remain indelible in the heart of most Tarabans.

Darius Ishaku who appreciated the advise of the Senator added that, there is the need to speedily fashion out laws that would usher in peaceful coexistence in the country, lamenting that, monies that would have been used to develop and provide the needed infrastructure are regularly being diverted to enhancing security.

He mentioned that, there is the urgent need to embark on massive sensitisation in all the nooks and crannies of the country, hinging on political, religious and tribal tolerance and informed the Senator that, calm has returned to Gembu in Sardauna Local Government area and attributed some of the crises to economic problem.

The Governor revealed that, Taraba state can comfortably produce rice that can feed the country as well as milk, meat, tea, and it is substantially blessed with tourism potentials, but maintained that all these can only be harnessed if there is peace and trust among the people of the state.

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku equally condoled the Senator on the death of an elder statesman, Dr. Yusuf Maitama Sule, describing him as a detribalised Nigerian that stood for the truth in his life time.

He maintained that the country has lost an illustrious son that was vibrant, eloquent and humble with a rare gift of accuracy and posited that he was a great man and great gift to the country.
