“As refugees, do not interfere with what does not concern you but rather, engage in meaningful business to better your lives”, he added.

On his part, the coordinator of the UNHCR programme in Sardauna local government who spearheaded the distribution exercise in collaboration with the Local Emergency Management Agency( LEMA) also appreciated the kind gesture from the Taraba State Government in putting smiles on the faces of the people.

It is pertinent to note that the UNHCR had earlier disclosed that Taraba state is hosting about ten thousand refugees with a high percentage in Sardauna Local Government Area due to its proximity to the border.

At present, there are about four refugee camps in the Local Government namely; Maisamari, Mbamnga, Yerimaru and Gembu.

There is no doubt that the decision of the Taraba State government to provide the relief materials at this time will go a long way in bringing succor to the hardship faced by the people.
