
Gov. Ishaku Tasks Royal Fathers
Gov. Ishaku appreciates Royal Fathers and tasks them to ensure peace reigns in their domain.
The Governor of Taraba state, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku tasks Royal fathers in the state to be vigilant and ensure that peace thrives in their respective communities.
Darius Ishaku said this today at the Exco Chamber of Government House when Royal Fathers led by their Chairman, the Aku Uka of Wukari, Dr. Shekarau Angyu Masaibi kuvyun ll paid him a condolence visit and to also appreciate him for giving the former Governor, Danbaba Danfulani Suntai a state burial.
The Governor maintained that he will not relent in soliciting for peace across the state until absolute normalcy is returned to all the nooks and crannies of the state, adding that he is determined to work hard to ensure that the people of the state live in communities that peace is the hallmark.
He stated that, all that is required to move the state forward is peace, saying that anything that will forestall peace across the state will be vehemently resisted by his administration and that he will not hesitate to deal with people that are in the habit of fomenting trouble in the state.
Accordingly, the Governor called on politicians to stop using gullible people to obstruct peace in the state, stressing that, politics is not an instrument of violence and warned politicians to avoid combining the two.
Gov. Darius Ishaku therefore, used the occasion to call on Royal Fathers to always intimate Government on happenings in their communities on time and to also advise appropriately.
The Governor remarked that, all that the state is doing at the moment is how to enhance the capabilities of farmers in the state so that they will begin to cultivate crops such as Sesame, cassava, rice and other cash crops that will put both money and food on the table of every Taraban and added that TAPMA has been revived and will soon buy off farm produce from farmers and sell it back to the citizens at a reasonable price whenever there is hike in the prices of food stuff in the market.
Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku also used the opportunity and appreciated the enormous support he received from the people of the state during the burial of the late former Governor, Danbaba Suntai and stated that the event was a huge success, stressing that the burial brought Nigerians from all works of life to accord late Suntai a befitting burial and said it was attended by serving and former Governors, Deputy Governors and eminent personalities.
Earlier in his speech, the Chairman Council of Chiefs Taraba state, Dr. Shekarau Angyu Masaibi kuvyun ll, who led the Chiefs said they have come to officially commiserate with the Governor and the entire people of the state on the death of Danbaba Suntai and to also appreciate the state government for honouring the former Governor with a state burial.
Dr. Shekarau Angyu Masaibi maintained that the event was a huge success with large turnout of personalities from across the country and it was also beamed live to viewers that were not able to attend the burial ceremony.
The Royal Fathers described late Governor Suntai as an extremely humble person who reciprocates humility and respect and commended the state Government for a job well done.
The Chairman Council of Chiefs said the Royal fathers are also appreciative of the Governor keying into the good works of late Danbaba Suntai which he started in the state before his tenure elapsed in 2015.
Accordingly, the Aku Uka of Wukari told the Governor that the entire Council of Chiefs in the state will continue to support him to ensure that he succeeds in moving the state forward developmentally.
