Results of the local government’s elections in Taraba have begun to trickle in from the various local governments of the state, even as security is being scaled up to forestall any uncertainty.
At the SIEC office Sunday morning, security personnel from the police, army, civil defence corps and SSS, can be seen in the vicinity. Also, both ends of the Ahmadu Bello Way stretch, where the office is located, have been cordoned off by security personnel.
Returning officers could be seen coming into the premises being escorted by heavily armed police and civil defence corps.
As at the time of writing this report, the Chairman of the Commission, Dr Philip Duwe, is being awaited at the office.
