Gov. Ishaku Signs 2023 Appropriation Bill Into Law

The Executive Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku on 19/12/2022, signed the 2023 appropriation bill into law.

The Governor said he was delighted to sign into law the 2023 Appropriation of the State Government for the next fiscal year, which is the last budget to be signed by his administration.

Governor Ishaku stressed that there will be proper monitoring of projects and programme implementation by MDAs, and promised to work very hard for the next five months to generate revenues to finance the plans.

“To achieve the laudable objectives of the 2023 Budget, we will ensure the monitoring of projects and programme implementation by MDAs and work very hard for the next five months to generate revenues to finance our plans.”

“The Public Complaint and Accountability Commission would be strengthened to improve and consolidate transparency and accountability, while the incoming administration will continue from where we will stop.”

“The 2023 Budget I have just signed into law provides for a total expenditure of One Hundred and Seventy-Three Billion, Two Hundred and Thirty-Four Million, Five Hundred and Thirty-Seven Thousand, Four Hundred and Fifty-Nine Thousand Naira, Forty Kobo (₦173,234,537,459.40) which is 13.5 percent higher than the 2022 Appropriation.”

“It comprises of Seventy-Four Billion, Five Hundred and Fifty-Six Million, Eight Hundred and Twenty-Nine Thousand and Eighty-Eight Naira, Fifteen Kobo (₦74,556,829,088.15) as recurrent expenditure, representing 43 percent and Ninety-Eight Billion, Six Hundred and Seventy-Seven Million, Seven Hundred and Eight Thousand, Three Hundred and Seventy-One Naira, Twenty-Five Kobo (₦98,677,708,371.25) as capital expenditure, representing 57 percent. Further details of the 2023 approved budget will be provided by the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.”

The Governor thanked the Rt. Honourable Speaker as well as other leaders of the State House of Assembly, along with all Honourable members for passing the 2023 Appropriation Bill into law on record time once again, stressing that his administration have worked with determination to improve the budgeting process and restored the January to December fiscal cycle.

He also thanked the Deputy Governor, all other members of the State Executive Council, the Honourable Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning and his team, and all that have worked vigorously to ensure they deliver on their mandate.

The event which took place at the exco chamber of government house, Jalingo was witnessed by the Speaker, Taraba State House of Assembly, Prof. Joseph Albasu Kunini, SSG to Taraba State Government, Hon. Anthony Andrew Jellason, Commissioner, Ministry of Budget and Planning, Hon. Solomon Elisha, members of the executive council, clerk of the House of Assembly, SAs, SSAs, PDP members.

The Ngada Special Development Area has gotten two new officials in person of Mr. Barnabas J. Ayuba as Deputy Coordinator and Mr. Maikudi Bala as the Secretary as approved by the Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku.

This development was contained in a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Iliya Bekyu Akweh.

It states that the appointments are with immediate effect.

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has announced a budget of N172.7 Billion for the 2023 fiscal year.

The Governor made the announcement when he presented the budget for 2023 fiscal year at the floor of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Jalingo.

The 2023 appropriation budget is tagged “Budget of Fulfilment of the Rescue Mission Transmission.”

Taraba State Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku will tomorrow November 29th, 2022 present the 2023 budget to the State House of Assembly.

It states that the ceremony will hold at the State House of Assembly Complex at ten o’clock in the morning.

It states that top Government officials, civil liberties organizations, the organized private sector and the general public are invited to attend the event.

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has congratulated the new Governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke who was sworn-in as the 6th elected Governor of Osun State on the 27th November 2022.

The Governor said that he is optimistic that Osun state will experience a new wave of governance, development and progress under his leadership.

His Excellency, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku, alongside other PDP stalwarts accompanied former Vice President and the PDP Presidential flagbearer, His Excellency, Alh. Atiku Abubakar to the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja for an interactive session with the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

The former Vice President and PDP Presidential flagbearer, His Excellency, Alh. Atiku Abubakar affiremed that the interactive session was a rewarding experience for him and the leadership of CAN as his is policy’s prescriptions to RECOVER Nigeria appears to align with the demands of the association greatly.

“We all agreed that there needs to be a restructured Nigeria that will be more inclusive and more secured with greater opportunities for citizens to fulfil their interests irrespective of tribe, tongue or mode of worship”. He said.

Above all, he stressed the inevitability of CHANGING the CHANGE that has, in the past seven years plus, led us to a socio-economic and political cul de sac.

Finally, he thank the National Executive Committee of CAN for the opportunity to share his thoughts with them on the pathway to a New Nigeria as he looks forward to other engagements with other critical stakeholders in the country in our quest to Recover Nigeria.

Press Release: Taraba State Government to Receive Food and Non Food Items From NEDC

The North East Development Commission will tomorrow Friday, 4/11/2022 present food and non food items to the Taraba State Government in Jalingo.

The managing Director of the Commission, Mohammed Goni Alkali is expected to present the items to the Executive Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku at half past ten o’clock in the morning at the Executive Council Chamber Government House.
