Job Creation
- We shall embark on empowerment of the youths to set up cottage industries and small scale enterprises such as dairy farming, poultry, fish farming etc., in partnership with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and other development partners.
- We shall undertake an internship scheme to impart requisite skills in our youths, especially graduates, under the Graduate Internship Scheme (GIS), and other similar schemes, in order to prepare them for full employment into the public service and private sector.
- We shall identify the economic potentials of various parts of the state where, through joint effort, the youths in each local government could be empowered to generate employment, to create wealth, and to enhance economic growth.
- We shall provide enabling environment to strengthen and encourage active private sector investment in the economy for growth and development, through healthy competition and the interplay of the market forces.
Skill Acquisition Centers for Youth Empowerment
We shall construct skills acquisition centers, in collaboration with development partners such as Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), among others, in each of the three Senatorial Districts, where youths will be trained in specific areas that address the comparative advantage of their zones to help them become entrepreneurs and employers of labour in situ.
Sports
We shall revive sporting activities from the grassroots through inter-schools and inter-local government competitions. This activities will engage the youth as well as as offer opportunity to identify talents that will be groomed for national and international sporting engagements.
We shall put the Jolly Nyame Stadium to full use so as to support the revival of sporting activities in the state. The designated golf course shall also be activated and put into full use by periodically hosting competitions.
